The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is a non-profit, non-political,
volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education, patriotism,
and honoring American Revolutionary War Patriots, 1775 - 1783. The women today who make up
the DAR come from diverse backgrounds and share a common bond from honoring their
families' roles in United States history.

The DAR is a service organization open to any woman 18 years or older who can prove descent from an American Revolutionary War Patriot. Much of our work is accomplished by volunteers in its chapters
across the United States and internationally.

Our mission objectives are historic preservation, education, and patriotism.

Preservation

Historic preservation is at the heart of DAR. Along with other chapters across our nation, Ocotillo Chapter, NSDAR, is proud to support local preservation efforts.

Education

Education and scholarship programs are one of the cornerstones of our organization. Our chapter supports a variety of programs that inform students or the general public. We recognize excellence through contests and awards.

Patriotism

Patriotism reflects our values through our actions. We join DAR members across our nation supporting programs that help our veterans and their families. Our chapter offers active-duty service personnel, in current conflicts abroad, care packages, phone cards, and other needed items. We also support the Anthem Veterans Memorial, participating in many official ceremonies honoring our veterans and our nation’s history.
